Madisonville is where the Tchefuncte River spills into Lake Pontchartrain and where most of the local boats are harbored. Anyone who knows me knows I am a sucker for abandoned ships like this one... apparently a former ferry boat.

DeleteOkay, so I was wrong. A Madisonville historian tells me that it is "Not a ferry. Some sort of tug with sleeping quarters". She also tells me that it has been stuck to the bottom of the lake for many years, so stuck that it would be too expensive to remove.
