Post Riverside, there was much driving through Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley. With a bit of work I managed to find a decent coffee and decent salad. I knew my options would be limited beyond that point...
What you do get beyond that point is a major center of date palm cultivation. If you look closely at these trees, the dates are being somehow contained... don't ask me how, or why, or even for a non-blurry photo. It's difficult enough to take pictures while driving...
The other thing you get down there is the Salton Sea, which smells funny... as does the whole Imperial Valley. Mainly I think that is caused by the cattle feedlot I saw further down the road.
