the salad from Lafayette, LA

West of San Antonio the driving went quite fast... Houston, Beaumont, and then across the Sabine River into Louisiana, where I settled in Lake Charles for the night. The following day I decided to stop in Lafayette, a large college town among other things, for a salad.
I drove for a long time down the main drag and saw nothing except a Thai restaurant... Then I gave up my search and decided to turn back to the Thai restaurant, but a road construction detour led me through some back streets that in turn led me to a health foods store and cafe. I thought I had hit a bulls eye until the ladies who ran the place informed me that they had no salad... BUT, they were able to direct me to a nearby place called Jason's Deli that did have one.
In my quest for a salad, I drove by the University of Louisiana and the Cajun Dome.
