Carlsbad Caverns N.P.

A much more famous national park, another one (like Guadalupe Mountains) that we had never visited, although I had seen many photos of the famous "natural entrance"...
I was impressed by the design of the entranceway, which included seas of "nopales" (prickly pear cactus) between the switchbacks...
We had the idea of waiting in the amphitheater until the bats emerged at dusk. The bat flight here is famous and well loved. Unfortunately we were told that they had migrated to Mexico for the winter. We would have been waiting a long time...
