Tucson Mountain Park, just west of the city on the way to Saguaro west, is apparently managed by Pima County and every bit as impressive as the national park. It was a great unplanned detour. I thought we were just stopping for the view, but Kate, with her childlike curiosity, started hiking up the mountain. The further we went, the more we were rewarded.
Then with equally childlike determination, she began stacking stones until everything was exactly to her liking, and all was well with the universe.
