At one point the trail stops going alongside the Truckee, veers left and continues into
Squaw Valley, the ski resort that hosted the
1960 Winter Olympics.
A fine valley, and a fine trail it is, continuing for some two miles...
...to
Squaw Village, where they were having some sort of event.
We sat at the very same fire pit, and possibly on the very same seat, that we did the year before. I purchased a smoothie from the very same smoothie shop that I did the year before. Our smiles are the 2011 edition of last year's. The twelve-plus mile bike ride, however, was brand new, providing a very welcome and rewarding workout.
