After driving all the way to Oakland's Jack London Square, we were kinda hungry... Since it's not every day that you encounter vegan soul food, we decided to check out this place Souley Vegan.
The chalk board menu was a bit overwhelming and took a lot of time and a bit of explaining.
The big basket of fried okra looked appealing enough, but it didn't exactly hit me over the head with flavor. Between you and me, I would take Kate's fried green tomatoes over this any day. The corn bread on the other hand was pretty good.
