Sometimes, for Thanksgiving, you spend a certain amount of time listening to your aunt's stories, catching up on your father's obsession with cats, eating the fabulous hors d'oeuvres prepared by your mother, and going for a walk in the cold... and you feel tremendously thankful for all of it.
