The mood of this trip to the Fair Grinds Coffeehouse was palpable and visible in these pictures -- clouds were rolling in over New Orleans, and that "just about to rain" feeling permeated the air; the plants outside were stirred to life, their green intermingling with the green walls of the coffeehouse. The distinction between indoors and outdoors seemed broken down, in a good way; the scraped indoor walls looking like outdoor walls, the old murals revealing some connection with horse racing. A black, smoky tea rounded out the mood. This coffeehouse will always hold a special place for me.
