Sometimes you go for a hike at Fort Ord, the former 15,000 acre army base now under the stewardship of the Bureau of Land Management, and it gets designated a National Monument less than one week later.
A nice little trail led up to this bluff which spoke to us from afar...
...and the view of the Salinas Valley below wasn't too shabby.
