We were inspired to add to the already extraordinary number of rock cairns. Building a stable cairn that won't collapse takes a little bit of patience and skill; the ones we saw had a look of permanence and eternity and reminded me of an Yves Tanguy painting. (Coincidentally, fellow surrealist painter Max Ernst lived for a while in Sedona).
