Not too far from Madisonville is an unusual settlement called Port Louis. This is a place surrounded by water, and at times in the water -- during the occasional flood, for example. I can't say I've ever seen so many anhingas in one place. It was a memorable display of these remarkable birds and their distintive behaviors.
