the ruins at San Gervasio

The bus took us to some Mayan ruins located in the middle of the island. The San Gervasio site, as it is called, is over 500 years old. In Pre-Columbian times, Mayan women would take pilgrimages there to honor the deity Ixchel - goddess of the moon, childbirth and fertility.
While the ruins didn't knock my socks off, it is a pretty site.
