In my brief career as a New Orleans foodie, Mia's Balcony was an early success, a pillar of my mental map of St. Charles Avenue. Now it is gone. Not sure what the story is there, and surely it will be missed. I do know that on that sultry summer night -- my first summer night on New Orleans -- we had a memorable shrimp bordelaise on the terrace as people, cars and street cars drifted by. We didn't realize it was a "last supper", but if it has to be, well, at least it was a good one.
