This fabulous building was designed by Finnish architect Eero Saarinen in 1962. In addition to its unique architectural charms, it has personal significance, since this is the terminal out of which I took my first trip to Europe in 1980. The City of New York listed it as a historic landmark in 1994, and the National Park Service listed it on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. Kudos to JetBlue and all who are presently involved in preserving it as a hotel.
