It was somewhere on this leg of the journey that Kate lost her famous orange hat (below). It also goes by the name favorite orange hat. We think it was lost somewhere between Gallup, NM and Roswell, NM, much of which resembles the landscape above. I took this photo because it captures the spirit of the place, and also features one of the best ranch signs I have ever seen. In any case, if anyone sees the famous orange hat, please contact the blogger.
