Of the places we stayed, this was among my favorite - especially the grounds, which were brimming with plant and animal life. Lomas del Volcan means "hills of the volcano", a reference to nearby Arenal Volcano. Were in not for heavy cloud cover we could see the volcano; fortunately the open air dining area had this unforgettable mural.
