trip to Tahoe - 7

It was a mile hike down to Vikingsholm, the summer home of a woman named Knight who clearly had too much money, as she divided her time between here and Santa Barbara... The house is situated at the very end of Emerald Bay, seen above. We caught the last tour of the day.
It is considered to be one of the finest examples of Scandinavian architecture in America. Note the woodwork above, and the sod growing on the roof below...

The interior featured some nice stained glass. Perhaps the best room was the little writer's nook seen on the left.
