San Francisco

The grand finale of our trip was San Francisco, a city that impresses me with every visit. It is a culturally rich, architecturally rich, many-layered affair, this thing called San Francisco...
We stayed at the Phoenix Hotel, a great 50's style motel smack in the middle of town and reinvented as a sort of boutique "rock & roll hotel". The items on the magazines above are actually complimentary ear plugs! Fortunately we didn't need them...
Although situated in the sketchy Tenderloin district, the hotel itself was fine and the surrounding neighborhood not so bad... There were a few panhandlers to contend with, but that was all. The hotel's restaurant is undergoing renovation and looks promising... Can't wait to return.
