Calliope

Sometimes, before setting out on a paddlewheeler, it comes up that the same word -- Calliope -- is the name of a street in New Orleans, the Greek muse of epic poetry, AND some sort of huge musical whistle like the one seen here on the Creole Queen. In case that isn't confusing enough, one also learns that there are two distinct pronunciations of the word -- kali-OPE (rhymes with Bob Hope) and ka-LY-o-PEE (rhymes with Chicken-of-the-Sea).
