Bywater

 

In the same direction as the Lower Ninth Ward is an up and coming neighborhood called Bywater. We noticed a similar wealth of colorful shotgun cottages as other parts of the city, but in various stages of restoration, and with a few more rough edges. 

 

 

There was also a very good restaurant-coffee house called Satsuma, where we hung out for a while.
