Sometimes you make a long overdue visit to the Hurricane Katrina-ravaged Lower Ninth Ward and see the homes built by Make It Right -- the organization Brad Pitt founded. It was a beautiful day to make such a visit and this blogger gives the project a big thumbs up.
Above, the Claiborne Bridge, gateway to the Lower Ninth Ward, and the surviving shell of a pre-Katrina home. Below, some of the new, clean, green homes. Maybe it was the near-perfect weather, but I found the place strangely peaceful.
