All in all, we had good luck with the weather in Utah. Winter conditions could have made things difficult, but instead there was sunshine with a light dusting of snow. We took route 9 out of Zion National Park and debated our next move. The decision was made by the guy who worked at Subway in Carmel Junction. As I recall, he suggested that it was crazy to have traveled so far and not take the famous route 12. So we plowed ahead through the Dixie National Forest, an area seen here called Red Canyon which was delightful on multiple levels.
